The incident with Valya Harkonnen using the voice is from «Mentats of Dune.» All three books intertwine the development of the Sisterhood, the Mentats, the Navigators, and the Suk Doctors. I don’t mean to be critical of the first episode of a TV series, but this was average on every level. The acting was below average, except for a few well-known actors like Mark Strong, Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, and maybe Travis Fimmel. The rest of the actors looked like they came out of a film academy or something.
The story was very loose and the dialogue was not outstanding
I like slow dramas that take forever to build because I know the payoff is worth waiting for. But this was not only slow, there was a lot going on, but it was also boring, I don’t know how else to put it. The soundtracks that accompany the films were copied a bit here, there were a few familiar sounds here and there, but the timing was just not right. It was like I heard a lot of music here that had no impact.
My question is, did they like it that it happened?
I remembered how much time we spent just talking to people in the movies, and then, boom, Hans Zimmer does the magic, and I was so absorbed. But I know he didn’t do any of the sound here, and I don’t have to check. I’m not sure if Denis Villeneuve was involved in this production, I hope not. Would a mediocre TV series after two epic films affect the highly anticipated third film?
So how would Dune: Prophecy affect the third film, if there is one
I ask because The Penguin was so good that it made me appreciate Batman even more than I did after watching it, and I can’t wait for the second film to come out. It’s thought-provoking.
