An incident involving the use of Valea Harkonnen’s voice was caused by the so-called «Dune Mentats». All three books intertwine the development of the Sisterhood, the Mentat, the Navigator and the Doctor Whores. I don’t want to criticize only the first episode of the TV series, but it was average on all levels. The acting was below average, with the exception of some notable actors such as Mark Strong, Emily Watson, Olivia Williams and maybe Travis Fimmel.
The story was very loose and the dialogue wasn’t worthy of Dune
The rest of the actors felt like they just graduated from film school or something. I like slow dramas that take forever to build because I know the reward is worth the wait. But it wasn’t just slow, all sorts of things happened, but it was just boring, I don’t know how else to put it. The soundtrack, which really ravaged the films, was a little choppy here, familiar sounds appeared here and there, but the timing was just not very good.
My question is, did he even want it?
Like that I heard a lot of music here that had no effect. I remembered how long we would just talk in movies, and then bam, Hans Zimmer would work his magic, and I was so excited. But I know he had no part in the creation here no sounds, and I don’t even need to check. I’m not sure Denis Villeneuve was involved in this production, I hope not.
Food for thought
Will this average TV show, after two epic movies, affect to the long-awaited third film? The reason I ask this question is because The Penguin was so good, it made me appreciate Batman even more than I did after watching it, and I can’t wait for the second movie. So how will “Dune: The Prophecy” affect the third movie , if there ever is one.
