At the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, a young Bob Dylan shakes up the folk music scene by going electric and playing rock as the voice of a generation – defining one of the most transformative moments in 20th-century music. The scenes were filmed at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island, where Bob Dylan made his first public appearance on electric guitar, and were filmed at the seaside resort of Cape May, New Jersey. Minimal credit was required because the resort was committed to being designated a National Historic Landmark because of its focus on Victorian architecture and other 19th- and 20th-century architectural motifs.
